Warranty Information

Warranty information is not specified in the provided pages.

Safety Instructions

This chapter contains safety instructions to be obeyed during installation, operation, and maintenance of the inverter. Ignoring these instructions can lead to injury, death, or damage to the inverter, photovoltaic generator, or adjacent equipment.

Use of Warnings

Warnings indicate conditions that can cause injury, death, or equipment damage, and provide guidance on preventing danger. Notes draw attention to specific conditions or facts.

Warning Symbols

  • Electricity warning: Hazards from electricity causing injury, death, or damage.
  • General warning: Conditions (other than electrical) causing injury, death, or damage.
  • Electrostatic sensitive devices warning: Risk of electrostatic discharge damaging equipment.

Precautions Before Electrical Work

  1. Clearly identify the work location.
  2. Disconnect all possible voltage sources (AC main switch-disconnector, DC main switch, auxiliary supply disconnector, transformer disconnector, solar array junction box DC circuit breakers). Ensure reconnection is impossible by locking disconnectors and attaching warning notices.
  3. Wait 5 minutes for intermediate circuit capacitors to discharge.
  4. Protect other energized parts.
  5. Take special precautions near bare conductors.
  6. Measure that the installation is de-energized using a multimeter (at least 1 Mohm impedance).
  7. Install temporary grounding as required by local regulations.
  8. Obtain a permit to work.

Electrical Safety

These warnings are for all personnel working on the inverter, cables, transformer, or photovoltaic generator.

  • Only qualified electricians should perform installation and maintenance.
  • Never work on energized equipment. Always wait 5 minutes after disconnecting for capacitor discharge.
  • Measure to ensure voltage is near 0 V between phases and frame, and between DC terminals and frame.
  • Isolate AC and DC power sources before working inside the cabinet.
  • Switch off auxiliary voltage supply before working inside the cabinet.
  • Apply temporary grounding for work.
  • Do not work on control cables when power is applied.
  • Be aware of live parts and sharp metallic shrouds.
  • Do not perform insulation or voltage withstand tests.

Grounding

  • Always ground the inverter and adjoining equipment for safety and to reduce interference.
  • Ensure sufficient conductivity of grounding conductors.
  • Connect each inverter separately to the protective earth (PE) busbar.
  • Use 360° high frequency grounding for shielded AC power cables.
  • EMC filters are not allowed at the AC output.
  • Do not install on a TN (grounded) system.

General Safety

  • Install and operate the inverter inside a closed electrical operating area.
  • Handle drive modules carefully, use safety shoes, and extend support legs when modules are on wheels.
  • Lift modules by the upper part only.
  • Be aware of rotating fan blades and hot surfaces after disconnection.
  • Prevent debris from entering the inverter during installation.
  • Avoid arc welding if possible; if necessary, ensure proper return wire connection and ventilation.

Printed Circuit Boards

Use a grounding wristband when handling printed circuit boards. They contain components sensitive to electrostatic discharge.

Fiber Optic Cables

  • Handle with care.
  • Hold the connector, not the cable, when unplugging.
  • Do not touch fiber ends with bare hands.
  • Do not bend fiber optic cables too tightly (minimum bend radius 35 mm).

Start-up and Operation

  • Close AC and DC main switches and miniature DC circuit breakers before start.
  • Do not open switches or breakers when the inverter is running.
  • Ensure all equipment is suitable for operation before adjusting and starting the inverter.
  • Maximum allowed power-ups: five in ten minutes.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Possible cause Remedy
This manual does not contain a dedicated troubleshooting table in the provided pages. However, a section on 'Fault tracing' (page 105) and 'Warning and fault messages displayed by the CDP-312R control panel' (page 106) is available.
