Testing Precautions:
- A commissioning discharge test as required by AS/NZS 2293.2 must be carried out.
- Allow 24 hours for battery full charge before testing.
- The standard requires fittings to operate in emergency mode for not less than 2 hours for the commissioning test and not less than 90 minutes thereafter.
- Keep records of commissioning tests.
- Continuously switching off the mains power supply can shorten battery life.
- ABB does not recommend such practices and may not honor battery warranty under harsh operating conditions.
- Emergency light fittings are designed for discharge testing once every 6 months as per AS/NZS 2293.2.
- Refer to the table for fault diagnosis.
- Contact ABB customer service if the issue persists.
- Rest command to extinguish emergency lamp when power is lost, limiting charge/discharge cycles.
- Function test to check battery, lamp, and circuitry.
- Duration test to check emergency mode operation and battery discharge.
- Inhibit feature to stop the device from entering emergency mode.
- Prolong time function to extend the emergency state up to 60 minutes.
- Mounting holes are at the same location as lid screws (167 x 257mm).
- Seal mounting holes to maintain IP rating if drilled through enclosure.
- Remove lid, top plate, and gear tray.
- Drill cable entry hole and deburr.
- Secure enclosure with M4 screws (approx. 4kg weight).
- Re-install gear tray.
- Run mains and DALI control cables.
- Terminate mains wires to terminal block (A, N, E).
- Connect DALI control cable to (DALI +) and (DALI -).
- Connect battery and lamp head cables to the control pack.
- Check operation by pressing the test button.
- Secure lid, ensuring proper tightening to maintain IP rating.
- De-energise and lock off the supply circuit.
- Remove lid, disconnect mains and DALI wiring.
- Disconnect battery connection.
- Undo mounting screws and remove fitting.
