The ABB Ability™ Smart Sensor gateway is used to upload Smart Sensor data to the Smart Sensor portal. Troubleshooting and error codes

Issue Solution
Forgetting login credentials or incorrect Wi-Fi configuration Press reset button for 10 seconds while gateway is powered on. This resets all settings to factory defaults.
Gateway does not generate Wi-Fi hotspot for setup Check power supply (blue LED ON). If gateway is configured for Wi-Fi network, it won't generate a hotspot. Reset gateway if needed.
Gateway does not connect to AC server Check internet access. If using USB dongle, ensure it's supported and connected to a mobile network. Verify network doesn't use VPN and firewall settings allow necessary ports.
Gateway is not reading Smart Sensor data Ensure Smart Sensors are within range. Data may take hours to appear. Check Status Page for 'AC Online Time'; if not shown, check internet connection.
Scanning for Bluetooth devices Adjust gateway placement or orientation. To enable scanning, change router mode from 'AC Managed Router' to 'Standalone Router' in the Basic Page. Gateway will reboot.
Privacy Policy
