Making an espresso: Add water, switch on to preheat, add espresso grounds to filter, screw in filter holder, place cups, brew espresso, remove drip tray.
Frothing milk/Creating steam: Switch on, select steam, immerse nozzle in milk, turn dial to create steam, stop steam, flush nozzle. For cappuccino, add frothed milk to espresso.
Heating water: Select hot water, place container, turn dial to dispense hot water.
Daily Care: Rinse system for 10 seconds without grounds. Empty water tank.
Troubleshooting and error codes

| Espresso temperature too low | System not preheated | Brew without grounds to preheat; Preheat cups; Decalcify. |
| Flow speed decreases | Espresso grounds too firmly pressed or too finely ground | Do not press too firmly; Use medium fineness; Decalcify. |
| Espresso flowing from side of filter holder | Filter holder not correctly positioned or rim dirty | Position correctly; Twist firmly; Clean rim. |
| Flow increases | Espresso grounds too coarsely ground | Ensure enough grounds; Use fresh grounds. |
| Machine switches off during operation | Overheating or pump run without water | Set to off, unplug, let cool 20 mins, refill with water, switch on. |
| No espresso coming out | Water tank not filled/positioned, filter holder not correctly placed, wrong switch/dial setting, grounds pressed too firmly, brew filter dirty | Ensure tank/holder correct, correct switch/dial settings, do not press firmly, clean brew filter, decalcify. |
| No crema produced | Not enough grounds, stale grounds, grounds pressed too lightly | Ensure enough fresh grounds; Press lightly. |
| Little milk froth created | Milk not cool, fresh, or low-fat; steam nozzle dirty | Use cool, fresh, low-fat milk; Clean steam nozzle. |
