Getting Started:
  • Ensure proper care and maintenance.
  • Understand handset range and signal strength.
  • Charge the battery when low.
  • Connect the base station and power cable.
  • Install the battery pack correctly.
  • Insert memory cards if needed.
  • Learn to switch the device on and off.
  • Navigate the Home and Extended Home screens.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Issue Solution
Voxtel Smart 3 does not turn on.
  • Make sure the power adapter is securely connected.
  • Use the included power adapter.
  • Ensure the Voxtel Smart 3 is turned on.
Voxtel Smart 3 does not recognise the memory card.
  • Ensure a certified memory card is inserted correctly.
  • Refer to page 5 for memory card insertion instructions.
Voxtel Smart 3 shows a low-battery warning.
  • The device needs to be charged. See page 4 for charging instructions.
Cannot send or receive emails or access the web.
  • Check the wireless signal indicator; you may not be connected.
Cannot make or receive calls.
  • Ensure your Voxtel Smart 3 is registered to the base station.
  • Check that the telephone cord and power adapter are connected properly.
The display freezes or does not respond.
  • Turn the Voxtel Smart 3 off and then on again.
Screen is not scrolling when the handset is placed on the base station.
  • Check battery contact and adjust handset on base station.
  • Clean contacts with an alcohol-moistened cloth.
  • Battery is full and charging is not needed.
No sound when the headset is connected.
  • Unplug and reconnect the headset, ensuring it's fully inserted.
  • Check if volume is deactivated or set too low.
Cannot register Voxtel Smart 3 to the base station.
  • Try resetting the base station by holding the Page button for 9 seconds.
  • Re-register your Voxtel Smart 3 to the base station (see page 19).
Email could not be delivered due to connection to the server on port 25 timed out.
  • You may need to change the port setting on an outgoing mail server.
Cannot access Internet radio broadcast.
  • Ensure your Voxtel Smart 3 is connected to a Wi-Fi network. (See page 36 for Wi-Fi setup).
Interference.
  • Check for noise interference on radio or television.
  • Move the base station further away if it is too close.
No dial tone.
  • Your Voxtel Smart 3 may not be registered to a base station.
No ring tone.
  • The ring tone may be deactivated.
  • Increase the volume.
Caller ID does not work.
  • Check your subscription with your network operator.
  • If using DSL, install a DSL filter between the base and the telephone wall jack.
A new contact cannot be stored.
  • The contacts list is full. Delete an entry to free memory.
Handset disconnects from the base during a phone call.
  • Ensure the power adapter is properly connected.
  • You may have moved out of range; move closer to the base.
