Quick Start Guide: Protect D. UPS

Turning On:

  1. Attach the back-up fuse or activate the line circuit breaker.
  2. The UPS powers on automatically from the network.
  3. An initialization phase with the AEG logo appears for 5 seconds.
  4. Confirm "UPS On" by pressing ENTER for 1 second.
  5. The UPS synchronizes and enters normal operating mode.

Turning Off:

  1. From the basic UPS status screen, press "▲" to access the "UPS Off" menu.
  2. Confirm by pressing ENTER (yes/no).
  3. The UPS will switch off or to bypass depending on settings.

Status Display:

The LCD displays input/output parameters, operation status, load, and battery capacity. It also shows messages, alarms, and battery status.

Navigation:

Use "▲" and "▼" to scroll, "ENTER" to select/confirm, and "ESC" to return to the previous menu.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Alarm or Notice Possible Cause Remark / Action
UPS On Bypass (Notice #169) UPS has been manually or automatically switched to bypass operation. Load is supplied via bypass network. Check for overheating, overload, or general UPS fault.
UPS on Battery (Notice #168) Intermittent Alarm A utility failure has occurred and the UPS is in battery mode. UPS inverter feeds load via internal battery. Try to restore line voltage.
Battery Disconnected (Alarm #199) Continuous Alarm The UPS does not recognize the internal batteries. Switch off UPS voltage; check connection of UPS and battery system. Contact service representative if persistent.
Low Battery Warning (Alarm #56) Intermittent Alarm Battery time remaining or capacity is lower than the defined low warning level. Warning signal for impending switch-off. Shutdown time depends on load and battery presence.
Shutdown Imminent (Alarm #55) Intermittent Alarm UPS communication is repeated since shutdown of load is imminent. Alarm generated when battery capacity reaches value 0. All loads should already be shut down.
