Preparing To Sew

  1. Connecting the machine to power supply: Ensure correct voltage, plug in machine and power supply, then turn on the power switch.
  2. Sewing table: Attach for extended surface, remove for free-arm sewing.
  3. Presser foot arm: Rates and lowers the presser foot.
  4. Changing the presser foot: Remove old foot by pressing holder, attach new foot by aligning pin and groove.
  5. Changing the needle: Loosen screw, remove old needle, insert new needle with flat side to the rear, tighten screw.
  6. Thread and needle chart: Select needle size based on fabric and thread type.
  7. Stitch selector and indicator: Turn dial to select desired stitch.
  8. Bobbin winding: Pull out hand wheel, place spool on pin, thread through guides, insert bobbin, wind using foot controller, push hand wheel back.
  9. Threading the upper thread: Raise take-up lever, thread through guides, tension area, check spring holder, thread take-up lever, thread guide, and finally the needle.
  10. Threading the bobbin case: Remove sewing table, open shuttle cover, remove bobbin case, insert bobbin (thread feeds clockwise), draw thread through slot and tension spring.
  11. Inserting the bobbin case: Raise needle, open shuttle cover, hold bobbin case by latch, insert fully, release latch, ensure latch is in notch.
  12. Drawing up the bobbin thread: Raise presser foot, hold needle thread, turn hand wheel, bring bobbin thread up, pull both threads under and behind presser foot.
  13. Thread tension: Lower thread tension: shake bobbin case suspended by thread to check. Adjust small screw on bobbin case. Upper thread tension: Adjust dial, standard is 3-4.
  14. Seam guide line: Numbers on needle plate indicate distance from center needle position.

Basic Sewing

  1. Selecting stitch sewing: Ensure needle is above fabric, turn stitch selector dial, adjust thread tension and stitch length.
  2. Reverse sewing: Press reverse lever to lock seams or reinforce.
  3. Changing sewing directions: Stop machine, needle in fabric, raise presser foot, turn fabric, lower presser foot.
  4. Basic Z-stitch: Select 'C', 'D', or 'E', adjust tension and length.
  5. Removing the work: Raise thread take-up lever, raise presser foot, draw fabric away.
  6. Cutting the thread: Hold threads behind presser foot, guide through thread cutter, press down.

Utility Sewing

  1. Overlock stitches: Select 'C', set tension and length.
  2. Three-point Z-seam: Select 'J', set tension and length.
  3. Blind seam: Select 'K' or 'L', set tension and length.
  4. Decorative stitch: Select 'F', 'G', 'H', or 'L', adjust tension.
  5. Sewing buttonholes: Attach buttonhole foot, mark fabric, sew sides and bar tacks using specific stitch selector settings.

Care Of Your Machine

  1. Changing light bulb: Disconnect power, remove face plate, unscrew old bulb, screw in new bulb, replace face plate.
  2. Cleaning shuttle race: Disconnect power, raise needle, open shuttle cover, remove bobbin case, remove shuttle race parts, clean, oil shuttle race.
  3. Cleaning the feed dogs: Remove needle and presser foot, remove needle plate, clean feed dogs, replace needle plate.
  4. Oiling the machine: Disconnect power, remove face plate, oil indicated points.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Top thread broken

1. Improper top threading.
2. Excessively tight top tension.
3. Blunt or bend needle.
4. Improper fixing of needle.
5. At start of sewing, top thread and bottom thread are not correctly fixed beneath the presser.
6. At end of sewing, the yarn is not threaded to back.
7. Excessively thick or too thin thread relatively to the needle.

Check or thread the top thread again; check or change the needle.
Breaking of bobbin thread

1. The yarn of bobbin is not correctly threaded into bobbin case holder.
2. Cotton flock collected on bobbin case holder.
3. The bobbin is damaged and impossible to smoothly rotate.

Clean the shuttle/ bobbin case. Adjust tension of top thread.
Needle broken

1. Improper fixing of needle.
2. Blunt or bend needle.
3. Loosing of needle set screw.
4. Excessively tight top tension.
5. At end of sewing, the yarn is not threaded to back.
6. Too thin needle.

Check and change proper needle.
Skipping stitch

1. Improper fixing of needle.
2. Blunt or bend needle.
3. The needle and (or) thread is unsuitable for the used fabric.
4. Improper top threading.
5. Incorrect selected needle.

Check and change proper needle. Check and threading the top thread again.
Crease stitch

1. Excessively tight top tension.
2. Improper top threading.
3. Excessively thick top thread for the used fabric.

Adjust tension of top thread.
Unsmooth feed

1. Feed dog is wound by thread.

Clean the presser foot.
Not rotation of machine

1. Not surely inserting power plug.
2. Clamping thread at shuttle race.
3. Failure to replace the bobbin at original position after winding bobbin.

Check the power connector. Check and clean the shuttle. Check and pull/push the bobbin winding pin to primary position.
Excessive noise of machine

1. Not surely inserting power plug.
2. Clamping thread at shuttle race.
3. Failure to replace the bobbin at original position after winding bobbin.

Check and clean the shuttle. Check and pull/push the bobbin winding pin to primary position.
