Allow me to introduce myself: I am your AEG LAVATHERM tumble dryer. From now on, I should like to make tumble-drying easier for you, and not simply because of my attractive appearance, but also thanks to my "intrinsic qualities”. I am economical in terms of energy, take good care of your laundry, am especially quiet in operation, easy to operate, and simple to care for. If you carefully read and follow my operating instructions before first use and familiarize yourself with my installation and connection instructions, you are sure to experience a good deal of joy when using me to dry your laundry! Safety instructions
  • Must be installed level using adjustable feet.
  • Wipe drum with a damp cloth before first use.
  • Do not install in rooms prone to frost.
  • Door can be rehinged if necessary.
  • Keep away from cookers and ensure sufficient ventilation.
  • Only use for drying general household laundry washed in water.
  • Disconnect power before cleaning or maintenance.
  • Keep space around the machine free of fluff.
  • Never direct a water jet on the casing or use the supply lead to pull the plug.
  • Do not operate if supply lead or machine shows visible damage.
  • Repairs should only be performed by trained electricians.
  • Keep packaging away from children.
  • Never dry articles treated with inflammable liquids or solvents.
  • Do not machine-dry articles containing foam rubber or similar materials.
  • Do not machine-dry fabrics with residues of hair spray, nail varnish remover, etc.
  • Machine-dried laundry becomes fluffy; fabric conditioners can be omitted.
  • Ensure garments are not jammed when closing the door.
  • The machine operates only when the door is closed.
  • Clean the fluff filter after every drying sequence.
  • Do not use acidic descalers, chlorine, or scouring agents on the stainless steel drum.
Out of concern for the environment
  • Thoroughly spin-dry laundry first (at least 800 min⁻¹).
  • Ensure good ventilation; room temperature should not exceed 35° C.
  • Use the optimum wash load, referring to the programme table.
  • Clean the fluff filter each time after use.
  • Dispose of materials responsibly.
Important recommendations on drying
  • Never dry wool or wool mixtures (felting risk).
  • Check care labels for suitability for tumble drying.
  • Dry temperature-sensitive laundry (e.g., acrylics) in the gentle programme (S-button).
  • Reduce load to 1.5 kg or less for delicate fabrics to minimize creasing.
  • Knitwear tends to shrink; avoid "overdrying".
  • For starched laundry, use twice as much starch and wipe drum with a damp cloth afterwards.
  • Spin-dry laundry well (at least 800 min⁻¹).
  • Close zip-fasteners and tie loose strings.
  • Turn double-layered fabrics inside out.
  • Never dry new, dark-coloured fabrics with light-coloured garments.

Before drying
  • Sort laundry by type (Cottons, Easy-care, Dark-coloured, Light-coloured).
  • Ensure laundry is suitable for machine-drying. Never dry wool or knitwear containing wool.
  • Empty pockets and remove metal objects.
  • Button up pillow-slips and close zip-fasteners, hooks, or eyes. Tie together loose belts and long apron strings.

  • Open door with door trip function.
  • Loosen laundry before loading to avoid tangling and creases.
  • Use recommended full wash load for economy, but do not overfill.
  • Individual items can be removed or added while the programme is running.
  • Take care when removing or adding laundry as the interior and laundry can be hot.
Selecting the drying programme
  • Drying time selector switch turns the machine on/off, sets drying time, and controls drum lighting.
  • Buttons (A, S, ①) have specific functions for starting, gentle drying, and signalling programme end.

  • Heating switches off before programme end for cooling.
  • A 30-minute anti-crease programme follows automatically if laundry is not removed immediately.
  • Drum tumbles alternately to keep laundry fluffy and crease-free.
  • Machine switches off automatically when anti-crease programme ends.
Programme end
  • Switch off by turning programme selector to 0 position.
  • Drum lighting and operating indicator go out.
Cleaning the fluff filter
  • Abraded fabric forms fluff which collects in the filter.
  • Clean fluff filter after every drying sequence.
  • Fold up filter cover, remove fluff from fine filter.
  • Moisten hand or use damp cloth for easier removal.
Cleaning, maintenance, and care
  • Clean drum interior with a cloth soaked in vinegar.
  • Do not clean control panel or controls with commercial polishes or harsh cleansers; use a damp cloth.
