  • Taking Pictures: Press the shutter button.
  • Self-timer: Select self-timer mode via menu, press menu to confirm. Press shutter button; LED blinks for 10 seconds, then picture is taken.
  • Video: Select video mode via menu, press menu to confirm. Press shutter button to start recording, press again to stop.
  • Flash: Use FLASH AUTO or ON mode. Camera charges flash; LED blinks. Flash fires automatically as needed or when shutter is pressed.
  • Digital Zoom: In REC mode, use UP button to zoom in, DOWN button to zoom out.
  • Playback: Press playback button to view photos and videos. Use DISPLAY button to see multiple files. Use UP/DOWN buttons for zooming in/out on single images.
  • Download: Connect camera to computer via USB. Pictures can be copied directly. Install driver if using Windows 98SE.
  • PC Camera: Install driver, connect camera, run Amcap software, select device, and choose Preview from Options.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Camera will not turn on 1. Battery not properly installed: Remove and reinstall batteries. 2. Insufficient battery voltage: Use new batteries. Do not mix old and new batteries. Rechargeable batteries with lower voltage are not recommended.
Flash will not fire 1. Flash set to OFF: Set to Auto or On. 2. Flash not fully charged: Wait for operation LED to turn off. 3. Low battery level: Change batteries.
Image is blurred / out of focus 1. Subject out of focal range: Ensure subject is at least 1.5m away. 2. Camera moved: Hold camera steady while taking pictures. Hold steady until flashes fire twice (if flash is on).
Subject in recorded image is too dark Insufficient light: Set flash to On or adjust exposure compensation to positive (+).
Flickering on LCD screen or recorded image Incorrect frequency setting: Check anti-flicker frequency (50Hz or 60Hz) for fluorescent lighting.
Picture download problem Windows 98SE: Install camera driver first. Ensure USB mode is set to MSDC before connecting. Windows 2000/ME/XP: Camera recognized as plug & play. Disconnect safely using the USB icon.
Flash disk does not display images Camera loads two drives: external SD/MMC and internal memory. If drive names conflict, reassign drive letters via Disk Management.
