  • Getting Started: Attach camera strap, open battery/memory card cover, insert battery and optional SD/SDHC memory card, format card if necessary, and close cover securely.
  • Charging the Battery: Insert battery into charger, connect power cord, and plug into wall outlet. Status LED indicates charging status. Remove battery after charging is complete.
  • Initial Settings: Set date and time by toggling MODE, pressing MENU, navigating to Setup, selecting Date/Time, and adjusting values. Choose language and format memory card or internal memory via the Setup menu.
  • Capturing Images: Turn on camera, toggle MODE to capture mode, compose image on LCD, press shutter button halfway to focus, and fully to capture. Smile detection and face detection features are available.
  • Video Mode: Toggle MODE to video mode. Set video size, quality, color, audio, and digital zoom in the Video Menu.
  • Playback Mode: Toggle MODE to playback mode. Use Playback Menu to fix red-eye, create slide shows, manage DPOF settings, protect images, add voice memos, resize, change quality, or copy to card.
  • Setup Menu: Adjust camera settings like Date/Time, Language, Auto Off, Beep, Display, Video Out, Light Frequency, LCD Brightness, Format, Media Info, System Info, and System Reset.
  • Transferring Files: Connect camera to computer via USB, turn on camera, select PC mode, and copy files.
  • PC Camera Usage: Install PC camera driver, connect camera via USB, select PC Camera mode, and launch videoconferencing software.
  • Editing Software Installation: Insert provided CD-ROM and follow on-screen instructions to install included software like ArcSoft MediaImpression, Print Creations, and ArcSoft Panorama Maker.

Troubleshooting and error codes

The power does not come on. The battery is not inserted.
The battery is exhausted.
Insert the battery correctly.
Recharge the battery.
The battery runs out quickly. The battery is not fully charged.
The battery is not used for an extended period of time after being charged.
Fully charge the battery and discharge it for at least one complete cycle before use to maximize its performance and lifetime.
The battery or camera feels warm. Long period of continuous use of the camera or the flash. -
Even if I press the shutter button, the camera does not take a picture. The shutter button is not pressed all the way down.
The memory card does not have any free capacity.
The memory card is write-protected.
Press the shutter button all the way down.
Insert a new memory card, or delete unwanted files.
Remove the write-protection.
The camera cannot operate normally while underwater. A temporary malfunction has occured. Long press the power button to turn off the camera. Turn the camera on again.
Images do not appear on the LCD monitor. LCD monitor is dark. Adjust the brightness of the LCD monitor in the menu.
The LCD monitor suddenly becomes blurry underwater. The camera is subjected to an accidental shock. Turn off the camera and turn it on again.
Although the camera is set to auto focus, it does not focus. The lens is dirty.
The distance to the subject is smaller than the effective range.
Wipe clean with a soft, dry cloth or lens paper.
Get your subject within the effective focus range.
The contents on the memory card cannot be played back. You played back a memory card that was not formatted by this camera. Insert a memory card that was formatted on this camera.
Files cannot be deleted. The file is protected. Cancel protection.
Even when the camera's buttons are pressed, it does not operate. The memory card is write-protected.
The battery is running low.
Remove the write-protection.
Recharge the battery.
