  • Making a call: Dial the number and press the call key. Hang up with the call end key.
  • Receiving a call: Press the call key to talk, hang up with the call end key.
  • Adding a contact: From the main screen, press OK, select Contacts, then Add contact.
  • Creating a message: Select Messages, then create text. Use Options for more settings.
  • Using the Torch: In idle screen, press and hold the 5 JKL key to activate/deactivate.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Issue Solution
My phone cannot switch on Check battery contacts, charge for 20 mins, reset phone or upgrade software.
My phone is frozen or has not responded Restart by holding the call key, remove/re-insert battery, reset phone or upgrade software.
My phone turns off by itself Check power key contact, battery charge, reset phone or upgrade software.
My phone cannot charge properly Use ALCATEL battery/charger, clean contacts, ensure proper insertion, charge fully. Check voltage abroad.
My phone cannot connect to a network / "No service" Try another location, verify network coverage, check SIM validity, select network manually, try later.
Invalid SIM card Ensure correct insertion, check for damage, verify SIM service availability.
Unable to make outgoing calls Dial valid number, check international codes, ensure network connection, check subscription, unbar calls, not in flight mode.
Unable to receive incoming calls Ensure phone is on and connected, check subscription, unforward calls, unbar calls, not in flight mode.
Caller's name/number not appearing Subscribe to service, check if caller concealed info.
Cannot find my contacts Check SIM card, ensure proper insertion, import SIM contacts to phone.
Poor call sound quality Adjust volume, check network strength, ensure receiver/connector/speaker is clean.
Unable to use features Check operator subscription, ensure no ALCATEL accessory is required.
Number cannot be dialed from contacts Verify recorded number, input country prefix for foreign calls.
Cannot add contacts Check SIM card capacity, delete/archive messages.
Callers unable to leave voicemail Contact network operator for service availability.
Cannot access voicemail Check operator's voicemail number, try later if network busy.
Flickering icon on standby screen Too many short messages on SIM, delete/archive them.
