Troubleshooting Possible solutions
Your phone cannot connect to the network
  • Check if your SIM card is inserted correctly.
  • Make sure you are within the network coverage area.
  • Make sure you have selected the network operator correctly (See "Network selection").
  • Check the network status with your operator.
Your phone cannot connect to a call
  • Make sure your phone is turned on.
  • Check your SIM card's validity.
  • Make sure you are within the network coverage area.
  • Make sure you are not in a restricted area.
  • Check if the call barring is activated.
Cannot make an outgoing call
  • Check if you have dialled the number correctly.
  • Make sure you have pressed the call key.
  • Check if call barring is activated.
Your phone cannot be reached
  • Make sure your phone is turned on and on a network.
  • Check if call forwarding is activated.
  • Check if Airplane mode is activated.
SIM card error
  • Make sure your SIM card is inserted correctly.
  • Re-insert your SIM card.
  • Contact your network operator to check if the SIM card is valid.
Unable to establish a data connection
  • Check your subscription status with your network operator.
  • Check the APN (Access Point Name) settings.
  • Make sure the data connection is activated.
Cannot charge the battery
  • Make sure the battery is correctly inserted.
  • Make sure you are using the ALCATEL charger provided with your phone.
  • Check if the charger is properly connected to your phone and the mains socket.
The phone cannot be turned on
  • Press and hold the power key for a few seconds.
  • If the battery is empty, charge it for a moment.
The screen is unreadable
  • Adjust the contrast.
  • Clean the screen with a soft, dry cloth.
I cannot make calls or receive calls
  • Contact your network operator to check that your service is activated.
  • Check that your phone is not in airplane mode, flight mode or the like.
I cannot send or receive messages
  • Check your SMS memory (See "My files").
  • Check your SIM card's SMS CBM memory.
  • Check that you have entered the correct message centre number.
The phone does not ring for incoming calls
  • Check that your phone is not in silent mode or vibration mode.
  • Check that the volume is up.
