Warranty Information

The Argus C20 camera is guaranteed free of defects in workmanship or material during its lifetime.

To operate the Argus C20:

  1. Loading Film: Pull up the rewind knob, lift the back latch, remove the back. Place the film cartridge, push the rewind knob down, engage the spool. Thread the film into the slot, ensure holes engage the sprocket. Close the back securely. Advance the film by moving the wind lever until about 2-3 strokes per frame. Set the exposure counter. Cock the shutter and take the picture.
  2. Focusing: Look through the rangefinder window (left eyepiece). Turn the focusing ring until the image is sharp and aligned. Then, look through the viewfinder window to compose and take the picture.
  3. Exposure: Use the Color-matic settings for bright sunlight or consult the exposure guides for different lighting conditions. Adjust aperture and shutter speed as needed.
  4. Unloading Film: When the exposure counter reads "O", hold the wind lever in "R" to disengage the winding mechanism. Turn the rewind knob until you feel a slight tug, indicating the film has left the take-up spindle. Turn a few extra turns to ensure the film is completely in the cartridge. Open the back and remove the cartridge.
