Warranty Information

Your Argus C44 camera is guaranteed to be free of defects in workmanship or material for its lifetime.

Loading the Argus C44 Camera:

  1. Remove the camera from its case by unsnapping the front flap and loosening the bottom screw. Open the back by turning the locking device and sliding it off.
  2. Turn the wind knob until it stops, then rotate the take-up spool so the flat surface and small roller face up.
  3. Place a 35mm film cartridge in the compartment, ensuring it seats properly.
  4. Thread the film, ensuring three perforations are under the small roller and engaged on the sprocket.
  5. Press the shutter release and turn the wind knob about half a turn until the film end folds back.
  6. Close the camera back by aligning the sides, sliding it into position, and locking the device.
  7. To advance the film, turn the wind knob until it stops, then press the shutter release and turn the wind knob again. This cocks the shutter and prevents double exposure.
  8. Set the exposure counter dial to 20 (for 20 exposures) or 0 (for 36 exposures) after advancing the film.

Interchangeable Lenses:

  • Align red dots on the lens mount and lens barrel.
  • Insert the lens into the mount and turn clockwise to lock it.

Focusing:

  • Turn the rangefinder dial until the double image in the circular spot becomes a single image for sharp focus.

Shutter and Aperture Settings:

  • Adjust shutter speed using the dial and aperture using the ring according to light conditions and desired depth of field.

Flash Photography:

  • Attach the flash unit to the accessory shoe.
  • Insert flash lamps and select the synchronization setting (M or X).
  • Use the flash exposure guide for correct aperture settings based on film type, flashbulb, shutter speed, and subject distance.
