Getting to know your appliance

This section guides you through the various parts of your appliance, with numbered illustrations for easy identification. Key components like the control panel, refrigerator and freezer compartments, ice maker, and dispensers are detailed.

Control and display panel

The control panel allows you to manage appliance functions. Buttons like "super" for rapid cooling/freezing, "freezer" and "fridge" for temperature settings, and "alarm/lock" for managing warning signals and locking the panel are explained. The display panels for both the freezer and refrigerator compartments show temperature and status information.

The appliance is switched on using the On/Off button. The "alarm/lock" button silences any warning signals. Temperature for the refrigerator can be set between 36°F (+2°C) and 46°F (+8°C), while the freezer can be set between 7°F (-14°C) and -11°F (-24°C). Recommended settings are provided.

Special functions

Super cooling and super freezing functions are detailed for rapid cooling of the refrigerator and freezing of food, respectively. The appliance also allows selection of temperature units (°F or °C).

Using the compartments

Guidelines are provided for using the refrigerator and freezer compartments, including advice on storing different types of food, using the vegetable compartment with humidity filter, and understanding the usable capacity.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Fault Possible cause Remedial action
Temperature differs greatly from the set value. The appliance may need to be switched off for 5 minutes. If the temperature is too high or too low, check again after a few hours or the next day. In some cases it is adequate to switch off the appliance for 5 minutes. If the temperature is too high, wait a few hours and check whether the temperature has approached the set value. If the temperature is too low, check the temperature again the next day.
No display on the display panel. The mains plug may not be properly inserted, or the fuse for the domestic supply may be switched off. Check whether the power is on, the fuse must be switched on.
"E.." is indicated on the display panel. Electronics module is defective. Call Customer service.
Warning signal sounds and the temperature display on the freezer compartment flashes. The freezer compartment is too warm, ventilation openings are covered, the freezer door is open, or too much fresh food was placed inside at once. Press the "alarm/lock" button to switch off the warning signal. The warmest temperature reached in the freezer compartment will be displayed for ten seconds. Frozen food that has started thawing can be refrozen under specific conditions.
The interior light is not functioning. The light switch for the freezer or refrigerator compartment is sticking, or the light is defective. Check whether the light switch can move. Refer to the "Light" section.
The appliance becomes slightly louder for a brief period. This is not a fault. It is due to the appliance working harder under certain conditions (e.g., Super function) to save energy. This is a normal operating characteristic.
