Troubleshooting and error codes

FaultPossible causeRemedial action
The interior light does not function; the refrigerating unit is running. The bulb is defective. Change the bulb
1. Pull out the mains plug or disconnect the fuse.
2. Changing the bulb Fig. 11/A. (Replacement bulb max. 15 W, 220–240 V alternating current, base E14)
The light switch is sticking. Fig. 11/B Check whether it can be moved. If not, then please call customer service.
None of the displays illuminate. Power failure; fuse has tripped; mains plug not inserted properly. Check that the power is on; fuse must be reset.
“Alarm” Fig. 2/5 display illuminates, the acoustic warning signal sounds. Malfunction – it is too warm in the freezer compartment! Press the “ » "/ "alarm” button to cancel the warning tone.
• Freezer-compartment door is open.
Close the door.
• The ventilation openings are blocked.
Ensure that there is adequate ventilation.
• Too much food was placed at once in the freezer compartment.
Do not exceed the max. freezing capacity.
• The fully automatic defrosting function has begun. After half an hour at most, the cooling begins again.
If the freezer-compartment door was open for a long time and the freezer compartment now no longer reaches the selected temperature the evaporator (refrigerating unit) in the No-frost system is covered in so much ice that it can no longer be defrosted automatically. To defrost the evaporator, take the produce out of the baskets, wrap it up and place in a cool location. Switch off the appliance and move it away from the wall. Place two pans, each containing approx. 4 litres of hot water (80 °C), on a heat-resistant base in the baskets and close the door.
After approx. 20 min. the condensate begins to run into the evaporation pan (at the rear of the appliance, see Fig. 4). To prevent the evaporation pan from overflowing, sponge up the condensate several times.
The evaporator is defrosted approx. 1 hour later when all the condensate has run into the evaporation pan. Clean the interior. Switch on the appliance.
