Switching on the appliance

In the fresh food compartment, set the thermostat to the "0" position. The appliance then starts to refrigerate. The interior light remains lit while the door is open.

Setting the temperature

Turn the thermostat to one of the numbers for continuous temperature adjustment. A higher number means a lower temperature.

  • Low numbers for short-term storage (economy mode).
  • Medium numbers for long-term storage and freezing fresh products.

Switching off the appliance

Set the thermostat to "0" to switch off the refrigeration unit and light.

Storing the appliance

If out of use for a long period, disconnect the plug, defrost, clean, and leave doors open.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Malfunctions What to do if... Changing the bulb
the light is not working even though the refrigeration unit is working? Check if the light switch can be moved. If yes, the bulb is defective. Disconnect the plug or switch off the circuit breaker. Pull the covering grille (fig. 14/B). Change bulb (220-240 V, 24 watts max., base E 14). If the switch is stuck (fig. 14/A), inform after-sales service.
Are there any frozen foods adhered to the compartment? Remove them using a blunt object, for example, a spoon.
Has a thick layer of ice formed? Defrost the freezer compartment and clean it. Ensure the door closes properly when replacing food.
Is the bottom of the fresh food compartment wet? The water drainage hole may be blocked. Remove obstruction with a long object (fig.).
What to do if... Check:
the temperature is too low in the fresh food compartment? Set the thermostat to a lower number (fig. 2/1). Avoid placing too much food in the freezer compartment. Never exceed the "maximum freezer capacity".
The refrigeration unit lights up more often and remains lit for longer? Check if the door has been opened frequently or if large quantities of cold food have been placed inside. Check if air access holes are blocked.
It is not cold enough in the freezer compartment and food items are defrosting? Check ambient room temperature (if below +12°C, shorten refrigeration unit operating time). Raise ambient temperature above +12°C. If fitted, switch on the temperature compensation switch (fig. 2/A); the red indicator will be visible.
The refrigerating power of the refrigerator is not sufficient? Check: Thermostat (fig. 2/1) is set between "1" and "5". Interior lighting is working. Corresponding trip switch on domestic mains is on. Plug is properly located in the socket.
