- Set room thermostat to the lowest temperature setting.
- Close the external manual gas valve.
- Turn OFF electrical supply to the furnace.
- Remove the outer door.
- Turn the control switch on the gas control to the OFF position and wait 5 minutes. Smell for gas.
- If you don't smell gas, go to next step. Turn the control switch to ON.
- Replace the outer door.
- Turn ON the electrical supply to the furnace.
- Open the external manual gas valve.
- Set the room thermostat to a temperature slightly above the room temperature.
- Set your thermostat to the temperature that satisfies your comfort requirements.
