Warranty Information

Warranty details not explicitly stated, but general appliance warranty is implied.

Turning on and temperature selection

  • Clean the inside of the appliance thoroughly before first use.
  • Turn the temperature selector out of the "O" position to start the refrigerating process. Wait a few minutes after closing the freezer door if it is difficult to open immediately.
  • Use the temperature selector to adjust the temperature of both compartments. Higher figures mean lower temperatures. "O" switches the appliance off.
  • A medium setting (approx. "2-3") is suggested. For freezing, use setting "3".
  • If the room temperature drops below +20°C, connect the freezer switch (Fig. 3/22). A red mark will indicate it is on.

Switching-off and setting out of use

  • Turn the temperature selector to setting "O" to switch off the appliance.
  • For long periods of disuse, unplug, defrost, clean, and leave doors open.

Arranging food

  • Adjust shelf racks to different levels.
  • Bottle holders can be fitted at an angle.
  • Door containers can be removed for cleaning.
  • Allow warm food/beverages to cool before storing.
  • Wrap or cover food well.
  • Avoid contact of oil/fat with plastic parts or door seals.
  • Do not store explosive substances.
  • Store high-proof alcoholic beverages upright in airtight bottles.
  • Coldest areas are the rear wall and around the bottom shelf.

Freezing fresh products, storing frozen food and making ice

  • Check packaging of deep-frozen food for condition and expiry date.
  • Ensure store temperature is below -18°C.
  • Purchase frozen items last and transport them quickly.
  • Wrap fresh products airtight for freezing using suitable materials (plastic film, bags, alu-foil, containers).
  • Avoid unsuitable materials (wrapping paper, cellophane, rubbish bags).
  • Label packages with contents and date.
  • Freezing capacity varies by model (e.g., 3.5kg/24h).
  • Place products flat, ensuring no contact with already frozen items.
  • Adjust temperature selector to "3" for freezing up to 1.5kg. Use the freezing switch for larger amounts.
  • Freezing takes approximately 24 hours.
  • Ensure freshly frozen food does not contact already frozen food.
  • Make ice by filling ice tray 3/4 full and placing in the freezer. Twist tray to release cubes.

Defrosting

  • Refrigerator defrosts automatically; clean discharge gutter and outlet.
  • Freezer compartment does not defrost automatically. Remove frost build-up to improve efficiency.
  • For thick ice coats, allow to thaw. Activate freezer switch 4 hours prior to defrosting if frozen products are present.
  • Remove frozen products, wrap and store in a cool place.
  • Turn temperature selector to "O" or unplug. Do not let water enter the thermostat.
  • Leave door open, absorb thaw water, dry compartment, switch on, and replace food.
  • To speed up defrosting, place a saucepan of hot water on a freezer grid. Do not use electric heaters, flames, or candles. Be cautious with defrosting sprays.
  • Never scrape ice with sharp metal objects.

Cleaning

  • Unplug appliance before cleaning.
  • Use lukewarm water with disinfectant and washing-up liquid, except for the door seal.
  • Clean door seal with clear water and dry.
  • Avoid water getting into the temperature selector.
  • Clean discharge gutter and outlet frequently.
  • Outer cabinet can be cleaned with furniture polish; keep door closed.

Energy saving tips

  • Install in a cool, well-ventilated room, away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
  • Cool warm food/beverages before storing.
  • Place food to be defrosted in the refrigerator.
  • Defrost freezer when ice builds up.
  • Open and close doors quickly.

Small problems for self-help

  • Check if appliance is level and if objects are near the refrigerating unit.
  • Check for parts rubbing against the appliance or wall.
  • Inner light not working: check bulb, remove screen (Fig. 9), replace bulb (max 15W, 220-240V, E14). Check light switch.
  • Temperature too cold: check temperature selector setting, ensure super-freeze is switched on if fresh food was added.
  • Cooling output deteriorates: check door openings, amount of food, frost build-up, blocked ventilation, objects near refrigerating unit.
  • No cooling: check plug, fuse, temperature selector is not on "O".

Customer service

  • If problems persist, call customer service.
  • Do not attempt electrical repairs.
  • Avoid unnecessary door opening.
  • Provide appliance number (Fig. 10/23) and FD number (Fig. 10/24) when calling.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Problem Possible cause
Unusual noises: The appliance may not be standing level or some kind of object is caught near the refrigerating unit. A part on the rear wall of the appliance cannot turn freely and rubs against the appliance or against the wall. In this case, bend part carefully away.
The inner light does not work: The bulb has burnt out. Pull plug out of supply socket. Remove screen (Fig. 9) then remove bulb and exchange for a new one, maximum 15W, 220-240 V, E 14 base. The light switch sitscks (figure 5/1). Try to get the switch to move. If it doesn't budge call customer service.
The temperature inside the refrigerator is too cold: The temperature selector (figure 9/3) is on setting "O". Temperature setting dial is set at a too low position. Fresh food was put into freeze without switching on the super-freeze (Fig. 3/22).
Cooling output deteriorates: The door was opened too often. A large amount of food was placed in the refrigerator. A thick layer of frost has built up inside the freezer. The relief outlet and the ventilation grid are covered. Some kind of object is caught between the refrigerating unit and the wall.
Total lack of cooling: Plug does not fit properly into socket. The fuse has disengaged. Temperature selector (figure 1/3) is on setting "O”.
