1. Install Instruction Manual: Download the full version from http://www.canon.com/icpd/. Requires Adobe Reader.
2. Charge Battery Pack: Plug in the compact power adapter, attach the battery pack, and wait for the POWER/CHG indicator to turn off (approx. 5 hours 35 minutes).
3. Insert Memory Card: Open the LCD panel, turn off the camcorder, open the memory card slot cover, insert the memory card at a slight angle with the label facing the lens, and close the cover.
4. Basic Setup: Turn on the camcorder, open the LCD panel, select language, date/time format, set date and time, choose movie format (AVCHD/MP4), select memory for recording, and complete setup.
5. Shooting Video and Photos: Turn on the camcorder, open the lens cover. Press START/STOP for video or PHOTO for photos. Close lens cover and turn off camcorder when finished.
6. Playback: Press the button, select content type (video/photos), touch thumbnail to play. Use playback controls on screen. Delete recordings via the Edit menu. Change memory/format via index screen button.
