Warranty Information

Limited one-year warranty on parts and labor for the DV Camcorder, with three months for the video head part.

Getting Started:
1. Attach power source (AC adapter or battery).
2. Remove lens cap and attach strap.
3. Choose display (viewfinder or LCD screen).
4. Turn the camera ON by sliding the POWER switch to CAMERA.
5. Load a cassette.
6. Select Easy Recording program by sliding program selector to [.
7. Press the START/STOP button to begin recording.
8. Press START/STOP again to pause.
Finishing Recording:
Replace lens cap, retract viewfinder, flush LCD, unload cassette, turn off power, disconnect source. Consider a test recording and head cleaning before important recordings.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Phrase Displayed Possible Cause/Solution
SET THE TIME ZONE, DATE AND TIME Appears each time you turn the power on, until you set the time zone, date and time (p. 41).
CHANGE THE BATTERY PACK Appears when the battery pack is exhausted (p. 12, 88).
TAPE END Appears when the tape has reached the end.
THE TAPE IS SET FOR ERASURE PREVENTION Appears when you try to do audio dubbing or A/V insert on a tape recorded in LP mode (p. 78, 81).
CHECK THE DV INPUT Appears if you press the REC PAUSE button when the DV cable is not connected properly (p. 75).
CONDENSATION HAS BEEN DETECTED Appears when the camera detects a blank section of a tape during audio dubbing or A/V insert (p. 78, 81).
REMOVE THE CASSETTE Appears as a warning to protect the tape and also when condensation is detected. Remove the tape as soon as possible after the camera has displayed the caution.
COPYRIGHT PROTECTED PLAYBACK IS RESTRICTED Refer to p.75
COPYRIGHT PROTECTED DUBBING RESTRICTED Refer to p. 75
CHECK THE CASSETTE [LP MODE] Appears when you try to do audio dubbing or A/V insert on a tape recorded in LP mode (p. 78, 81).
CHECK THE CASSETTE [AUDIO MODE] Appears when you try to do audio dubbing on a tape recorded in 16-bit audio or 12-bit, 4-channel mode (p. 81-83).
CHECK THE CASSETTE [BLANK] Appears when the camera detects a blank section of a tape during audio dubbing or A/V insert (p. 78, 81).
