Troubleshooting and error codes

Error Code Description Solution
1300 Paper is Jammed inside Printer. Remove paper according to the jammed location. Turn off and unplug the printer, then turn it back on. If the issue persists, contact Canon service.
2114 Paper size settings at printer driver do not match the paper size registered in the printer. Cancel printing, match paper loaded in rear tray with printer setting using the 'Paper Select' button, and update printer driver settings.
2900 Scanning print head alignment sheet failed. Ensure alignment sheet is correctly placed and clean. Load plain paper and check print head condition. Perform automatic or manual print head alignment.
2901 Print head alignment pattern has been printed and printer is waiting to scan sheet. Load the printed alignment sheet on the platen, printed side down, aligning the mark. Close the cover and press the Color or Black button.
4102 Media type and paper size are not set correctly. Cancel printing, adjust media type or paper size settings, and retry. For custom sizes on non-plain paper, set width to 127.0 mm (5.00 in.) or less.
4103 Cannot perform printing with current print settings. Cancel printing and change the print settings before retrying.
5011, 5012 Printer error has occurred. Turn off and unplug the printer, then turn it back on. Contact Canon service if the problem persists.
5100 Printer error has occurred. Cancel printing if in progress, turn off the printer. Check if FINE cartridge holder motion is impeded and if FINE cartridges are installed correctly. Turn printer back on. Contact service if unresolved.
5B00 Ink absorber is full. The ink absorber needs replacement. Contact Canon for repair. Printer cannot print when full.
6000 Printer error has occurred. Remove jammed paper. Turn off and unplug the printer, then turn it back on. Contact Canon service if the issue persists.
