Troubleshooting and error codes

Problem Solutions
Memory becomes insufficient and scanning stops. If scanning conditions use large amounts of computer memory, scanning may stop. Adjust conditions such as [Color Mode], [Page Size], or [Dots per inch]. Turn off [Moire Reduction] and [Prevent Bleed Through/Remove Background] if they are enabled.
Double-feeding occurs when scanning a document with multiple pages. Press the scanner's DFR button to continue the scan, or clear the [Detect by Ultrasonic] check box on the scanner driver settings screen.
Passport cannot be scanned as intended Configure settings: Set [Page Size] to a larger paper size (e.g., A4) or 300 dpi or less. Load the passport with the side with more pages facing down.
If scanning is too slow Close other programs, free up memory, ensure sufficient hard disk space, use a Hi-Speed USB 2.0 compliant port and cable, and connect directly to the computer (avoid USB hubs if possible).
If scanned image files cannot be opened in an application Ensure the application supports multi-page TIFF or compressed TIFF files. Select "None" as the image file compression format before scanning if needed.
