Troubleshooting and error codes

Error messages Symptom Countermeasure
Scanner cover is open. Front unit is open. Close the front unit.
An invalid value has been set. Please try again. An invalid character was input when the IP address was set manually. Input a valid IP address.
Connection failed. Set it again. Failed to connect to Wi-Fi when switching the connection mode.
Wi-Fi settings were done, but connections failed.
Refer to "Q3. Scanner is not recognized." in Troubleshooting, and check the status of the Wi-Fi connection.
The connection has timed out. Please try again. Timeout occurred because you forgot to press the router button, when doing the WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) settings. Redo the connection operations from the beginning.
This function is available only when connecting with an Ethernet cable or Wi-Fi. Change the connection mode and try again. Use of [Shared Folder] was attempted during USB connection. Change the connection mode to wired LAN connection or Wi-Fi connection, and then redo the operation.
To maintain maximum performance, the current rollers should be replaced now. Please refer to the instructions in the User Manual. The number of scanned pages has exceeded 200,000, which exceeds the number of pages for the service life of the rollers. Replace the rollers (See p. 88)
Paper jammed in scanner, clear paper and continue. Paper jammed while scanning. Open the front unit, and then remove the jammed document.
A double paper-feed has occured. Please check the document and the scanned image on the display and scan the document again. Paper double fed while scanning. Check the document, and then scan the document again.
No page was found in the feeder. No document was loaded. Load a document in the scanner's feeder.
Could not confirm storage location. Check if path, user name, or password are wrong? The save destination is incorrect. Set the correct save destination, user name, and password in CaptureOnTouch Job Tool.
Hardware error. There is an internal scanner error. Turn the power off and then on again. If the error appears even after turning the power off and then on again, make a note of the contents of the message, and then contact your service representative.
