Getting Started

- Charge the Battery: Load the battery and charge it using the USB cradle. \n
- Initial Setup: Turn on the camera and configure language, date, and time settings. \n
- Using a Memory Card: Insert a memory card and format it if necessary. \n
- Shooting a Snapshot: Turn on the camera, point at the subject, half-press the shutter button to focus, and then fully press to capture the image. \n
- Viewing Snapshots: Press the PLAY button to enter PLAY mode and use the navigation buttons to scroll through images. \n
- Shooting a Movie: Press the REC button to enter REC mode, then press the movie button to start and stop recording. \n
- Viewing a Movie: Enter PLAY mode, select the movie, and press SET to play. \n
- Deleting Files: Navigate to the file, select Delete, and confirm. \n
Troubleshooting and error codes

| There is a vertical line on the monitor screen | Shooting a very brightly lit subject can cause a vertical band to appear in the monitor screen image. | This is a CCD phenomenon known as “vertical smear”, and does not indicate malfunction of the camera. Note that vertical smear is not recorded with the image in the case of a snapshot, but it is recorded in the case of a movie. |
| Images are out of focus. | The subject is outside the range of the camera. | Shoot within the allowable range. |
