Get Connected

Plug the power cord of the switch into an outlet.

Preparing Your Switch

Using the Mobile app: Connect the switch to an existing wireless network (access point, router, or mesh extender). Ensure you have a DHCP server. Proceed to the "Get Configured" section.

Using the Web User Interface (UI): Connect a computer to a switch port with an Ethernet cable. Ensure your computer is on and proceed to the Web UI Setup instructions under the "Get Configured" section.

Download the Cisco Business Mobile app by scanning the QR code or visiting cisco.com/go/cbsapp.

Alternative: Web UI Setup

  1. The switch attempts to acquire an IP address via DHCP. If unsuccessful, it uses the default IP 192.168.1.254.
  2. If using the default IP, set your computer's IP address within the range of 192.168.1.2-192.168.1.253 (ensure it's not already in use).
  3. Open a web browser and enter the switch's IP address (e.g., http://192.168.1.254).
  4. At the login page, enter Username: cisco and Password: cisco.
  5. Click Log In.

LED GREEN STEADY GREEN FLASHING AMBER OFF
System Switch has acquired an IP address through DHCP or a static IP address has been manually configured. Booting, performing self-tests, acquiring IP address, or factory default IP address is being used. Flashing, hardware failure detected. Switch is powered off.
LINK/ACT Link between corresponding port and another device detected. Port is passing traffic. N/A Link down.
PoE* Power is being supplied to a device connected to the port. N/A N/A Power is not being supplied or nothing is connected to the port.
Gigabit* 1000 Mbps link is established. N/A N/A Connection speed is under 1000 Mbps or nothing is connected to the port.
10 Gigabit* 10 Gbps link is established. N/A N/A Connection speed is under 10 Gbps or nothing is connected to the port.
