Troubleshooting and error codes

Symptom Possible Cause Recommended Action
Cannot connect to an IP camera through a web browser. Incorrect PC operating system or browser, wrong IP address, PC not on the same LAN, invalid port number, or restricted IP address. Ensure correct OS/browser, IP address, and port number. Verify PC is on the same network. Check IP filter settings.
Cannot log in to the IP camera as the administrator. Incorrect credentials or forgotten administrator password. Use correct case-sensitive credentials (admin for username). Perform factory reset if password is forgotten and reconfigure.
Configuration windows do not display when you click the Setup link. Exited browser without logging out, causing a delay. Wait up to 2 minutes and try again.
Motion detection feature does not send e-mail alerts. E-mail alert feature not configured properly, or SMTP server is filtering emails. Configure e-mail alerts correctly. Try a different SMTP server or check with ISP if blocked.
Motion detection video files do not show moving objects. Motion detection may not be accurately detecting motion due to frame comparison. Avoid sudden light changes and camera movement. Ensure secure mounting. May not work well outdoors.
Blurry images when viewing video. Dirty lens, improper back focus adjustment, or suboptimal video settings. Clean the lens. Adjust back focus. Configure video settings for optimal clarity.
