Before You Begin

To configure the Cisco WVC210 camera, you need at least one computer with an active LAN IP connection. You must perform the initial configuration using a wired connection to the Ethernet port. The initial configuration cannot be performed over a wireless connection. Once hardware installation is complete, run the Setup Wizard on the Setup CD-ROM for first-time software installation. Advanced users can set up the camera directly from its web interface.

Camera Installation

  1. Connect the antenna to the camera.
  2. (Optional) Set the camera into the desktop stand.
  3. Place the camera and adjust its aim.
  4. Connect the Ethernet cable to your network router or switch.
  5. Connect the other end of the cable to the camera's Ethernet port.
  6. Connect the power adapter to the camera's power port and plug it into an electrical outlet.
  7. Verify that the camera LEDs are lit.
  8. (Optional) If the camera is not functioning correctly, press the Reset button located next to the Ethernet port for more than three seconds to reset it to factory defaults.

Configuration

  1. Insert the Cisco WVC210 Setup CD into your PC's CD-ROM drive. If it doesn't run automatically, navigate to My Computer and click the CD-ROM drive.
  2. Click the 'Start' button on the Setup screen.
  3. Follow the Setup Wizard instructions to configure the camera.

Wired and Wireless Modes

After initial configuration, the camera can operate in either wired or wireless mode, but not simultaneously. To switch modes, power cycle the camera with an Ethernet cable attached for wired, or without the cable for wireless. Verify the mode by checking the LEDs. Unplugging the Ethernet cable does not automatically switch to wireless mode.
