Welcome

The Cisco Small Business Smart Storage, NSS324 and NSS326, are Network Attached Storage (NAS) devices that appear as a native file server for various clients within your network. They provide a single repository for data storage, ensuring integrity, reliability, and accessibility at a low cost.

Before You Begin

Ensure you have the following before installation:

  • Internet connectivity (optional)
  • Small Phillips screwdriver
  • Ethernet switch or router
  • 1-6 SATA 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch disk drives (not included with some models)
  • Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) with USB connection (recommended)
  • Properly grounded anti-static wrist strap (recommended)

Installation Steps

  1. Install the disk drives into the NAS chassis.
  2. Connect the NAS device to your network using an Ethernet cable.
  3. Connect the power cord and power on the NAS.
  4. Configure the NAS using the Setup Wizard from the product CD or the LCD display.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Problem Possible Cause Solution
NAS does not recognize disk drives Disk drive not supported by Cisco Confirm the disk drive is supported. See the Cisco approved vendor list at www.cisco.com/go/smallbizsmartstorage.
Disk tray installed incorrectly Try removing and reseating the disk tray.
Device needs to be restarted Power the device off, then back on to recognize the disk drives.
