Video Settings

  • Resolution: Adjust image sharpness. Higher resolution means sharper image but more memory usage.
  • Loop Clip Time: Control clip duration; 'Off' allows one uninterrupted clip.
  • Brightness Level: Adjust EV for different lighting conditions.
  • Motion Detection: Records only when motion is detected, stops after 15 seconds of no motion.
  • Microphone: Toggle audio recording on/off.
  • Date/Time Stamp: Watermark date and time on videos.
  • G-Sensor: Detects collisions and locks the recording. Sensitivity adjustable (1-3).
  • Beep Sound: Enable/disable button press sounds.

General Settings

  • Date/Time: Set device date and time.
  • Language: Select from 11 supported languages.
  • Light Frequency: Set to 60Hz (US) or 50Hz (International).
  • Screen Saver: Set display timeout to avoid distraction.
  • Flip Image: Flip image for upside-down mounting.
  • Format SD Card: Erase all data on the SD card.
  • Restore Defaults: Reset device to factory settings (does not erase SD card data).
  • Firmware Version: Display software version.

Viewing Video Files

  • Access Playback Mode to review saved videos and photos.
  • Use arrow keys to navigate and OK to select.
  • Up/Down keys adjust playback speed.
  • Files can be viewed and deleted.

Connecting to a Computer or TV

  • Connect via USB to a computer.
  • Select 'Connect to Computer' for Mass Storage mode (like a flash drive).
  • Videos are .avi files; Quicktime on Mac may not support them. Visit cobra.com for compatible players.

Troubleshooting

  • Ensure power cord is connected and cigarette lighter socket is clean.
  • Check that the adapter is seated and the Status LED is on.
  • Check the power cord fuse (2-amp).

Unit not operating properly
  • Make sure the power cord is properly connected.
  • Make sure the vehicle's cigarette lighter socket is clean and free of corrosion.
  • Make sure the power cord's cigarette lighter adapter is firmly seated in your cigarette lighter, and the Status LED is on.
  • Check the power cord fuse. Unscrew the ribbed end cap of the cigarette lighter adapter and examine the fuse. If required, replace it with a 2-amp fuse only.
