Checking Instructions
These instructions are for your safety. Please read the following instructions carefully before proceeding with the installation and use of this appliance. All installation work must be carried out by a suitably qualified person, strictly following local building regulations and these instructions. To avoid risks, ensure the cooker hood is installed correctly and read safety instructions carefully. Check for damage after unpacking. Contact Customer Services if in doubt. Ensure all parts are present and decide on the location. Handle glass components with care. The specification plate provides identification for ordering parts. Pass this manual to the new owner if the appliance is sold or given away.
Safety Warnings
  • Risk of electric shock and fire if cleaning is not done correctly.
  • Use correct fixings suitable for the substrate and capable of supporting the appliance weight.
  • Use only fittings and mounting screws of the same size as recommended.
  • Switch off at mains supply before maintenance or cleaning.
  • Accessible parts may become hot; keep children away and avoid touching.
  • Do not flambé under the hood. Clean or replace grease filter regularly and monitor hot oil.
  • Full disconnection means must be incorporated in fixed wiring according to local rules.
  • Minimum distance of 760mm between hob cooking surface and lowest part of hood.
  • Check voltage and frequency match appliance rating plate before connecting.
  • Consult local regulations for extraction outlets. Do not connect to ducts carrying combustion fumes. Ensure room ventilation is adequate.
  • Hood may stop during electrostatic discharge; no damage risk. Switch off and reconnect after one minute.
  • Appliance can be used by children aged 8+ and persons with reduced capabilities if supervised and instructed. Children must not play with the appliance. Cleaning/maintenance by children unsupervised is not allowed. Keep out of reach of children under 8.
  • Damaged supply cord must be replaced by manufacturer, service agent, or qualified person.
  • Do not install outdoors, in damp places, or near water leaks. Do not use if water affects appliance; contact customer services.
  • Do not use flammable sprays nearby. Dispose of packing material carefully.
  • Refer to Care and Maintenance for filter and lamp details.
  • Do not use a steam cleaner.
  • Appliance not intended for external timer or remote control.
  • Ensure adequate room ventilation when using with gas appliances; negative pressure should not exceed 4 Pa.
  • Do not use if damaged or imperfect; contact customer services.
  • Manufacturer disclaims liability for damage from misuse or incorrect installation.
  • Appliance is for domestic use only as an extractor hood.
Installation
All installation by competent person or qualified electrician. Ensure mains voltage matches rating plate. Direct connection to mains via omnipolar circuit breaker with 3mm minimum contact separation. Installer ensures correct electrical connection and wiring diagram compliance. Cable not bent or compressed. Check plug/cord for damage; replace if damaged with special cord/assembly. This is a Class I appliance and MUST be earthed.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Problem Possible cause Solution
Excessive vibration. The appliance is not installed properly on the brackets. Take down the appliance and check it is properly fixed.
The fan blade is damaged.
The fan motor is not fixed tightly.
The light is on, but the fan does not work. The fan blade is jammed. Switch off the appliance. Repair to be carried out by qualified service personnel only.
The motor is damaged.
Both the light and motor do not work. Light bulb blown. Replace with a bulb of the correct rating.
Power connection loose. Check power supply.
Suction performance reduced. Speed may be too low. Select a higher speed.
Aluminium filters are dirty. Clean the aluminium filters. (See Care and maintenance section).
Top vent might be obstructed. Clear any obstruction.
Optional vent kit might be twisted. Ensure that the vent kit is fitted according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Works normally but cooking smells linger. The installation may not comply with the manufacturers instructions. The vent hose should be correct diameter throughout with no reductions or restriction. (See installation section).
Carbon filter is not fitted in recirculation mode or is full of grease. Fit carbon filter or replace the carbon filter (See Care and maintenance section).
