Starting the Engine:

  1. Insert key into ignition switch.
  2. Place PTO (Blade Engage) lever in OFF position.
  3. Engage parking brake.
  4. Activate choke control.
  5. Turn key to START position. Release to ON once engine starts.
  6. Deactivate choke by moving throttle to FAST position after engine starts.

Stopping the Engine:

  1. If blades are engaged, disengage PTO.
  2. Turn ignition key to STOP.
  3. Remove key to prevent unintended starting.

Driving the Tractor:

  1. Avoid sudden starts, excessive speed, and stops.
  2. Do not leave seat without disengaging PTO, engaging brake, and shutting off engine.
  3. Always look behind when backing up.

Engine runs erratically 1. Unit operating with choke on.
2. Spark plug wires loosened.
3. Fuel line clogged or fuel has gone bad.
4. Vent in fuel tank cap obstructed.
5. Water or dirt in fuel system.
6. Air filter dirty. 		1. Press choke control.
2. Connect spark plug wires.
3. Clean fuel line; fill tank with fresh, new gasoline and replace fuel filter.
4. Unclog vent or replace fuel cap if damaged.
5. Empty fuel tank. Fill with fresh, new gasoline.
6. Replace paper air filter element or clean foam air cleaner.
Engine overheats 1. Engine oil level is low. 1. Fill crankcase with the correct amount and weight of oil.
Engine hesitates at high RPM 1. Spark plug gap too small. 1. Remove spark plugs and adjust gap.
Engine runs poorly at idle 1. Spark plug stuck, damaged or excessive gap.
