Throttle/Choke Control Lever: Located on the left dash, controls engine speed and choke. Push forward for choke to aid starting. Always use FAST position when cutting deck is engaged.
Speed Control Lever (Hydrostatic Models): On left rear fender. Move to desired 'F' (forward) or 'R' (reverse) for speed. Move to 'N' (neutral) to stop. Use 'Cutting Speed' for best mowing results.
Drive Pedal: On right side. Depress forward for forward travel, move shift lever to 'F'. For reverse, move shift lever to 'R', then depress pedal. Return pedal to original position when not depressed.
Parking Brake: Set by depressing pedal and moving lever to ON. Release by depressing pedal and moving lever to OFF. Always engage when leaving operator's seat.
Clutch-Brake Pedal: Depress partially for slowing, fully for complete stop. Must be depressed to start engine.
Shift Lever (CVT/Foot Control CVT): FORWARD (F), NEUTRAL (N), REVERSE (R). Must be in NEUTRAL to start engine. Do not change direction while in motion.
Ignition Switch: START (engine start), NORMAL MOWING MODE (engine running), STOP (engine off).
PTO Lever: Engages/disengages cutting deck/attachments. Must be OFF to start engine.
Deck Lift Lever: Adjusts cutting height. Move left to adjust.
Mowing: Keep bystanders 75 ft away. Plan mowing pattern. Mow at full throttle. Do not mow tall grass or brush. Keep blades sharp.
