This warranty covers defects in material or workmanship for one year from the purchase date, excluding bags and filters.
Assembly: Unpack all contents, check against the carton contents list, and notify Sears if any parts are damaged or missing. Assemble casters and caster feet to the dust drum. Attach the powerhead assembly to the drum, ensuring a complete seal. Insert the "Pos-I-Lock®" hose into the Vac inlet until it snaps. Accessories can be stored in the caster feet. The hose can be wrapped around the unit.
Operation: For dry vacuuming, ensure the filter is correctly positioned. For fine dust, empty the drum and clean the filter frequently. A dry filter is necessary for dry materials. For wet vacuuming, if picking up small liquid amounts, the filter can remain. For large amounts, remove the filter to prevent saturation and misting. A float mechanism will rise to cut off airflow when the drum is full; stop the Vac immediately and empty it. The filter must be dried after wet pickup. The Vac can also be used as a blower by inserting the hose into the blowing port. Always use safety eyewear when blowing.
Maintenance: Clean the filter regularly for optimal performance. Dry the filter before storing. Check for tears or holes and replace if damaged. To remove the filter, hold the tabs and lift while pushing down on the stud. To install, slide the filter over the cage and press down until it seats. Clean dry filters by tapping or running water through them. Clean wet filters by rinsing with water and drying. Clean the exterior with a damp cloth. Disinfect the drum with a bleach solution if necessary. Oil noisy casters. Store the Vac indoors, with the cord wrapped and accessories accessible.
