1. Install the DFE-538TX Drivers:

  • Turn ON the computer.
  • Insert the driver CD into the CD-ROM drive.
  • Click on "Install Driver" from the on-screen prompt.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions. For Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista, click OK. For Windows 98SE/ME, click Yes to reboot.

2. Install the DFE-538TX into the Computer's PCI Slot:

  • TURN OFF the computer and unplug the power cord.
  • Remove the computer's back cover.
  • Locate an available PCI slot.
  • Remove the backplate for the slot.
  • Insert the DFE-538TX firmly into the PCI slot.
  • Secure the DFE-538TX with the screw from the backplate.
  • Replace the computer's cover.

3. Finish the Installation:

  • TURN ON the computer.
  • If prompted (Windows 98SE/ME), click Yes to restart.

4. Check the Installation:

  • Go to START > SETTINGS > CONTROL PANEL > SYSTEM > HARDWARE > DEVICE MANAGER.
  • Scroll down and click on "Network Adapters".
  • The "D-Link DFE-538TX" should appear without errors.
