Warranty Information

D-Link provides a one-year limited warranty for hardware (excluding power supplies and fans), and ninety days for spare parts.

Hardware Installation: Shut down the computer, unplug power, remove chassis cover. Locate and insert the adapter into a PCI Express slot, secure with a screw. Replace chassis cover, reconnect power, and turn on the computer. The BIOS should automatically configure the adapter.
Driver Installation: Insert the D-Link CD-ROM. Run the "Install Drivers" option from the autorun screen. Follow the on-screen prompts. For Linux, Netware, or FreeBSD, navigate to "View Other Drivers" and follow the specific instructions for those operating systems.
Configuration: By default, the adapter obtains an IP address from a DHCP server. To verify, open a command prompt and type "ipconfig". To assign a static IP address, navigate to Network Connections, right-click on the adapter, select Properties, and configure TCP/IP settings.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Problem Solution
Adapter not detected Ensure adapter is securely seated in the PCI Express slot. Check BIOS settings. Reinstall drivers.
No network connectivity Verify network cable is properly connected. Check link/activity LEDs on the adapter and network device. Ensure drivers are installed correctly. Test with a different network cable or port.
Slow network speed Check link speed status. Ensure auto-negotiation is enabled on both the adapter and the network device. Verify network cable category (e.g., Cat 5e or higher for Gigabit).
Driver installation fails Ensure you are using the correct driver for your operating system. Check for any conflicting software or drivers. Temporarily disable antivirus software during installation.
