1 Set up your computer

  1. Connect the keyboard and mouse.
  2. Connect to your network using a cable, or connect to a wireless network.
  3. Connect the display. If your computer has a discrete graphics card, connect the display to the discrete graphics card.
  4. Connect the power cable.
  5. Press the power button.
  6. Follow the on-screen instructions for Windows setup, including connecting to a network and signing into your Microsoft account.
  7. Locate Dell apps like Register your computer, Dell Help & Support, and SupportAssist.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Problem Solution
System does not boot after BIOS update If BitLocker was enabled, suspend it before updating the BIOS and re-enable it after. System does not boot after power loss Check the AC power recovery setting in Power Management. Options include Power Off, Power On, or Last Power State.
Keyboard errors during POST Enable or disable keyboard error reporting in POST Behavior settings.
System not detected by network Verify Network Adapter drivers are installed. Check Network Connector (RJ-45) port.
Unable to update BIOS via USB Ensure the USB key is FAT32 formatted, the BIOS executable is on the root, and the system has AC power and a functional battery. Use the F12 One-Time Boot Menu and select 'BIOS Update'.
