Troubleshooting and error codes

COMMON SYMPTOMS WHAT YOU SEE POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS
No Video/LED off No picture, monitor is dead. • Check connection integrity
• Verify the AC outlet
• Ensure power button depressed fully
No Video/LED on No picture or no brightness, power LED has green color • Increase brightness & contrast controls
• Perform monitor Self test feature check
• Check signal cable for bent or broken pins
No Video / LED amber No picture, power LED has amber color. • Check that the PC power is plugged in and turned on.
• Check that signal cable is firmly attached to the video port of the PC (blue coded video port).
• Make sure the correct input port (1 or 2) is selected.
• Press a key on the PC keyboard or move the mouse to wake up the PC.
"No signal input from input 1 or 2" appears A RGB box with the message "No signal input from input 1 or 2" shows on screen. • Check the signal cable connection between computer and monitor.
• Use the monitor Self test feature described under trouble shooting.
"Frequency out of range" appears A red and cyan colored box with the message "Frequency out of range" appears on screen. • Wait 15 seconds for Windows to reset video mode.
• Manually reset video mode by following procedure:
O Reboot PC.
O Press F8 while reboot is processing.
O Select safe mode.
O Select Control Panel to decrease resolution.
Poor Focus Picture is fuzzy, blurry or ghosting • Eliminate video extension cables.
• Perform monitor reset (Select "Reset" in main menu).
• Select "Moir" from advanced controls and set H & V Moir at 0%.
• Decrease brightness & contrast controls
• Lower video resolution or increase font size.
Shaky/Jittery Video Wavy picture or fine movement • Perform monitor "Reset"
• Check environmental factors
• Relocate and test in other room
Color Purity Problems Color is not uniform
Picture has color blotches or shades
• Activate the Degauss feature using the OSD degauss menu.
• Reposition the monitor.
• Check environmental factors (Speakers too close to monitor).
• Adjust the purity by using the OSD "ADJUST PURITY" in "EXTRA CONTROLS" menu.
Color Convergence Problems Characters show red or blue at edges • Perform monitor reset (Select "Reset" in main menu).
• Perform monitor Degauss.
• Adjust the convergence by using the OSD "ADJUST CONVERGENCE" in EXTRA CONTROLS.
Missing Color
or Color Flood
Entire screen is purple or yellow
Entire screen is red, green or blue
• Check that signal cable is firmly attached to the video port of the PC (blue coded video port).
• Perform monitor reset (Select "Reset" in main menu)
• Perform monitor Self test feature.
• Check signal cable for bent or broken pins.
• Reset the video card
Missing Pixels CRT screen has spots, specs or blemishes on the glass • If the blemish is on the outside of the glass, try cleaning the CRT screen
Brightness Problems Picture too dim or too bright • Perform monitor "Reset"
• Adjust brightness & contrast controls
Geometric Distortion Screen not sized or centered correctly • Perform monitor "Reset"
• Ensure monitor is in proper video mode
• Adjust the appropriate geometric control
Moir (Thin Curvy Lines) Screen shows wavy or elliptical lines
Screen shows wood grain patterns
• Ensure monitor is in proper video mode
• Adjust horizontal or vertical size Clear the moir pattern by using the OSD
"Moir" menu in "extra controls" menu.

Audible Noise Problems Has humming sound or high frequency squeal • Ensure monitor is in proper video mode
• Reposition the monitor
• A loud hum when turning on or during manual degaussing is normal
CRT Scratched Screen has scratches or smudges • Turn monitor off and clean the screen, see Maintenance instructions
Safety Related Issues Visible signs of smoke or sparks • Do not perform any troubleshooting steps
• Switch off the monitor and disconnect the mains cord.
• The monitor needs to be replaced.
Intermittent Problems Monitor malfunctions on & off • Check connection integrity of mains cables.
• Check the signal cable connection between computer and monitor.
• Ensure monitor is in proper video mode.
• Perform monitor "Reset"
• Use the monitor Self test feature described under trouble shooting.
