  • Installing Batteries: The pen uses one AAAA battery for tip and button functions, and two coin-cell batteries for Bluetooth and quick-launch features. Follow specific instructions for installing each type.
  • Pairing with a Bluetooth Device: Press and hold the top button for 3 seconds to enable pairing mode. Use Windows Bluetooth settings to find and pair the 'Dell PN556W Pen'. The Bluetooth-pairing light indicates pairing status.
  • Active Pen Control Panel: Download and install this software from dell.com/support/drivers to customize pen buttons, pressure sensitivity, and other features.
  • Using the Pen: Hold like a pencil. Use the tip on a touch screen for pointer movement, writing, and drawing. Barrel buttons can be customized for functions like right-click, erase, page up/down, copy, paste, undo, and redo.

Pressing and holding the top button for 0.5 second or pressing the button twice in succession does not wake up the computer or tablet from connected standby. Your computer or tablet may not support the connected standby feature. Ensure to use this feature on computers and tablets that support the connected standby feature.
