Safety Instructions

  • Fire Risk: Do not place objects in front of or near the lens during operation.
  • Lamp Handling: Lamp contains mercury; recycle or dispose according to local laws. Allow projector to cool for 30 minutes before changing the lamp. Do not touch the bulb or glass.
  • Operation: Remove lens cap before turning on. Allow cooling fan to run for 2 minutes before turning off. Do not block ventilation slots. Disconnect power when not in use for extended periods.
  • Environment: Avoid extreme temperatures, humidity, dust, and strong magnetic fields. Do not place in direct sunlight.
  • Eye Safety: Do not look into the lens while the projector is on.
  • Electrical Safety: Do not expose to rain or moisture. Do not disassemble beyond lamp replacement.
  • Transport: Retract zoom lens and elevator foot before moving or packing.
  • Cleaning: Turn off and disconnect power before cleaning. Use a soft cloth with mild detergent. Avoid abrasive cleaners.

Installation

Connecting the Projector

A. To Computer: Connect power cord, D-sub to D-sub cable, or USB to USB cable.

B. To DVD Player: Use component cable, S-video cable, or composite cable.

C. Professional Installation Options: Wired RS232 remote control connection to PC or commercial RS232 control box.

Powering On/Off the Projector

Powering On: Ensure lens cap is removed, power cord and signal cable are connected. Press power button. Turn on source device. Projector auto-detects source.

Powering Off: Press power button twice. Cooling fans run for 90 seconds. Disconnect power cord.

Adjusting the Projected Image

Height: Press elevator button to raise/lower projector. Use tilt adjustment wheel for fine-tuning.

Zoom and Focus: Rotate zoom tab to zoom. Rotate focus ring for clear image.

Adjusting Projection Image Size

Chart provided shows projection screen size based on projector to screen distance for various diagonal screen sizes.

Changing the Lamp

Replace lamp when prompted. Turn off and disconnect power. Let cool for 30 minutes. Loosen screws to remove lamp cover and lamp. Reverse steps to install new lamp. Reset lamp usage time in OSD Management tab.

Using Your Projector

Control Panel

Buttons include Power, Volume, Video Mode, Source, Resync, Menu, Four Directional Keys, and Keystone Adjustment.

Remote Control

Buttons include Video Mode, Next/Previous Page, Menu, Aspect Ratio, Hide, Volume, Keystone Correction, Resync, Source, Four Direction buttons, Power, and Light.

On-Screen Display (OSD)

Access OSD via Menu button. Navigate through tabs (All Images, Computer Image, Video Image, Audio, Management, Language, Factory Reset, Exit) using directional keys. Adjust settings using +/- or arrow keys. Exit via Exit tab.

  • Brightness: Adjust image brightness.
  • Contrast: Adjust difference between brightest and darkest parts.
  • Color Temp.: Adjusts color temperature (blue/red shift).
  • Color Setting: Manual adjustment of Red, Green, and Blue colors.
  • Keystone: Adjusts image distortion from tilting (±16 degrees).
  • Aspect Ratio: Switches between 1:1, 16:9, or 4:3 aspect ratios.
  • Video Mode: Optimizes display for PC, Movie, Game, sRGB, or User preferences.
  • White Intensity: Adjustable between 0 and 10.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Problem Possible Cause Solution
No Image Projected Lens cap is on. Remove lens cap.
Power cord is not connected. Ensure power cord is securely connected.
Projector is not turned on. Press the power button.
Signal cable is not connected properly. Ensure signal cable is securely connected.
Incorrect source is selected. Press the Source button to select the correct input.
Source device is not turned on or is not sending a signal. Turn on the source device and verify signal output.
Image is distorted or skewed (Keystone effect) Projector is not positioned perpendicular to the screen. Adjust projector position or use Keystone Correction.
LAMP light is solid orange Lamp has reached end of its life. Replace the lamp.
TEMP light is solid orange Projector has overheated. Turn off projector and allow to cool. Ensure proper ventilation.
TEMP light is blinking orange Projector fan has failed. Contact Dell.
