Warranty Information

DEWALT will repair any defects in materials or workmanship for three years from the date of purchase.

General Operation:

  • Read and understand all instructions before starting.
  • Keep hands and feet away from the mower.
  • Clear the mowing area of objects.
  • Ensure bystanders and pets are at a safe distance.
  • Always wear appropriate footwear.
  • Look down and behind when moving backward.
  • Do not operate without safety devices in place.
  • Never leave a running mower unattended.
  • Release bail handle to stop the motor and wait for the blade to stop before making adjustments or cleaning.
  • Operate in daylight or good artificial light.
  • Do not operate under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or when tired or ill.
  • Avoid dangerous environments (damp or wet grass, rain).
  • Disengage drive system if equipped before starting.
  • If mower vibrates abnormally, stop immediately and check for the cause.
  • Always wear proper eye and respiratory protection.
  • Only use DEWALT approved accessories.
  • Maintain proper footing and balance.

Slope Operation:

  • Mow across slopes, never up and down.
  • Use extreme caution when changing direction on slopes.
  • Watch for holes and obstacles.
  • Do not mow on wet grass or excessively steep slopes.
  • Do not mow near drop-offs or ditches.

Starting Mower:

  • Insert safety key until fully seated.
  • Push and hold the ON-OFF button, then pull the bail handle.
  • Release the ON-OFF button once the mower starts.
  • To turn OFF, release the bail handle.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Mower doesn't run when bail handle is activated
  • Check safety key installation and switch activation.
  • Release bail handle, remove safety key and battery packs, turn mower over and check blade for free rotation.
  • Check battery cavity for debris and connection.
  • Ensure batteries are fully charged (press state of charge button).
Motor stops while mowing
  • Release bail handle, remove safety key and battery packs, turn mower over and check blade for free rotation.
  • Check battery cavity for debris and connection.
  • Ensure batteries are fully charged (press state of charge button).
Mower runs but cutting performance is unsatisfactory, or does not cut entire lawn
  • Raise cutting height and start mower.
  • Check battery cavity for debris and connection.
  • Ensure batteries are fully charged (press state of charge button).
  • Avoid overloading; slow down or raise cut height.
Mower is too hard to push
  • Release bail handle, remove safety key and battery packs, turn mower over and check blade sharpness, deck/chute for clogging.
  • Raise cutting height if set too low for grass conditions.
Mower is abnormally noisy and vibrates
  • Release bail handle, remove safety key and battery packs, increase cutting height to reduce deck drag, check wheels for free rotation.
  • If no damage is visible, disassemble blade assembly, clean parts, reassemble. If vibration persists, return to authorized service center.
Mower not picking up clippings with bag
  • Clear chute obstruction.
  • Raise cutting height.
  • Empty bag more often.
