Always be mindful when using the apparatus. This apparatus is not intended for use by children or infirm persons without supervision. The apparatus must not be used as a toy. Do not allow children or animals to come near the work area or touch the apparatus. Be very careful when the apparatus is used near children. The apparatus must only be used in dry locations. Do not allow the apparatus to get wet.
Do not immerse the apparatus in water. Do not open the housing. There are no user-serviceable parts inside. Do not use the apparatus in explosive atmospheres, e.g. where there are flammable liquids, gases or dust. The electric apparatus generates sparks, which may ignite dust or fumes. Visually inspect the blades, blade bolts and blade assembly regularly for wear and damage before using the machine. Replace worn or damaged blades and bolts as a set to maintain balance. Never operate the machine when others, especially children, are nearby. Be aware that the user is responsible for accidents or risks to others or their property.
Always wear sturdy footwear and long trousers when using the machine. Never work with the machine wearing sandals or bare feet. Avoid wearing clothing that is loose-fitting or that has hanging cords or bands. Thoroughly inspect the area where the machine is to be used and remove all objects that the machine could throw out. Visually inspect the blade, blade bolt and blade assembly regularly for wear and damage before using the machine. Replace worn or damaged components as a set to maintain balance. Replace damaged or illegible labels.

| The Mower Does Not Operate When the Lever Is Pressed | Ensure the safety key is installed and seated properly, and that the trigger is pressed. Release the lever. Turn off the mower. Remove the safety key and battery packs. Turn the mower upside down and check that the blades can rotate freely. Check that the battery compartment is clean and that the batteries are properly connected. Are the batteries fully charged? Press the battery status button. If the handle fold indicator 15 is lit, refer to the "Raise Single Touch Handle" section in this manual. Release the lever. Turn off the mower. Remove the safety key and battery packs. Turn the mower upside down and check that the blades can rotate freely. Check that the battery compartment is clean. |
| The Motor Blade Stops While Cutting Grass | Check that the battery compartment is clean. Operate the mower at its own pace. Do not overload it. Increase the cutting height of the wheels to the highest setting and operate the mower. Are the batteries fully charged? Press the battery status button. Avoid overloading the mower. Reduce the cutting speed or increase the cutting height. If the overload indicator 13 is lit, allow the batteries and mower to cool down. Then restart the mower and continue mowing with the mower base set to a higher height. Ensure that the two storage latches 30 on the lower part of the single touch handle tubes project outward before lowering the handle into the storage position. The main handle 4 must fully engage the handle openings 29. If they do not engage as shown in Fig. G, push the main handle 4 towards the handle support 2 until two "clicks" are heard and both sides of the handle openings 29 are closed as shown in Fig. H. |
| The Single Touch Handle Does Not Lock Into Position | Ensure that the two storage latches 30 on the lower part of the single touch handle tubes project outward before lowering the handle into the storage position. The main handle 4 must fully engage the handle openings 29. If they do not engage as shown in Fig. G, push the main handle 4 towards the handle support 2 until two "clicks" are heard and both sides of the handle openings 29 are closed as shown in Fig. H. Check that the wheels rotate freely. |

| The Mower Operates But Cutting Performance Is Not Satisfactory Or Does Not Cut Grass Evenly | Are the batteries fully charged? Press the battery status button. Release the lever to turn off the mower. Remove the safety key and battery packs. Turn the mower upside down and check: Are the blades sharp? Keep the blades sharp. Is there an obstruction in the deck and discharge chute? Increase the wheel cutting height to reduce the length of cut. |
| It Is Very Difficult to Push the Mower | The mower's cutting height may be set too low for the condition of the grass. Increase the cutting height. Check that the wheels rotate freely. |
| The Mower Is Producing Unusual Noise and Vibration | Release the lever to turn off the mower. Remove the safety key and battery packs. Turn the mower upside down and check the blade for bending or damage. If the blade is damaged, replace it with a DEWALT replacement blade. If the underside of the deck is damaged, take the mower to a DEWALT Authorized Service Center. If the blade is not visibly damaged and the mower still vibrates: Release the lever to turn off the mower. Remove the safety key and battery packs. Remove the entire blade assembly as described in "Removing and Installing Blades." Remove any debris and clean each component. Reinstall each component as described in "Removing and Installing Blades." If the mower still vibrates, take it to a DEWALT Service Center. |
| The Mower Does Not Collect Cut Grass in the Bag | Discharge chute is clogged. Remove grass clippings from the discharge chute. Increase the cutting height of the wheels to reduce the length of cut. Bag is full. Empty the bag more frequently. |
