Overview: The Disk Jockey PRO IT (DJ) is an intuitive device for data management. Press POWER/START to activate the LCD. Use the MODE dial to scroll through options. The DJ recognizes computer connections (USB/eSATA) and adjusts available modes. STANDALONE modes are available when not connected to a computer.

Modes:
  • DISK COPY: Copies all sectors from Disk 1 to Disk 2. Handles size differences.
  • PARTITION COPY: Copies specific partitions based on MBR.
  • DISK COMPARE: Verifies data integrity sector by sector after a copy.
  • PARTITION COMPARE: Compares copied partitions.
  • VERIFY CHECK: Performs a read test on attached HDDs.
  • DISK CHECK: Performs a verify check and writes dummy data to error sectors.
  • SEEK TEST: Tests mechanical integrity of Disk 2 HDD. Runs continuously.
  • DATA ERASE 00x1: One-pass erase by writing "00".
  • DATA ERASE NSA 00x3: Three-pass erase (NSA standard).
  • OPTIONS: Customize settings like Buzzer, Max XFR Mode, Auto Skip, Retry Count, Timeout Retry, and CRC Error Retry.
  • DJ PRO Attached to Computer:
    • STANDARD: HDDs recognized as external storage.
    • COMBINE: Two HDDs appear as one.
    • MIRROR: Writes same data simultaneously to both HDDs.
Error Messages: Alerts for Disk Read, Disk Write, and Disk Timeout Errors. Prompts to continue or stop.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Disk Read Error Error reading data from a disk. Check disk connection and integrity. Try again or use 'Auto Skip' if available.
Disk Write Error Error writing data to a disk. Check disk connection and integrity. Ensure destination disk has enough space.
Disk Timeout Error Operation took too long. Check disk performance and connections. May indicate a failing drive.
