Warranty Information

The refrigerator is guaranteed for one year under correct usage conditions.

CONTROLS

The refrigerator can run on 230 V, 12 V, or LP gas. Use rocker switches (A, B) for power selection and knob (D) for gas control. Thermostats (C, E) regulate temperature. Model RM 4401 has electronic ignition (F); RM 4400 uses a piezo igniter (G).

STARTING THE REFRIGERATOR

Select one energy source only. For LP gas, open the gas bottle, set thermostat high, and follow specific lighting procedures for RM 4401 (switch F) or RM 4400 (igniter G), pressing and holding the knob (D) to activate the flame failure device. For 230 V, turn off other sources, set thermostat high, and switch (B) to I. For 12 V, ensure the engine is running, turn off gas, and set switch (A) to I.

REGULATING THE TEMPERATURE

Allow a few hours for the refrigerator to reach operating temperature. Set thermostat knob (C) to 3-5 for 230 V. For LP gas, set thermostat (E) to 3-5. For 12 V, it operates continuously.

TRAVEL CATCH

Engage the travel catch when the caravan is moving to secure the door.

FOOD STORAGE

Use closed containers. Cool hot food before storing. Do not store items that emit flammable gases. The frozen food compartment is for storage, not freezing.

ICE MAKING

Fill ice trays just below the brim. Spilling a little water can improve contact. Make ice overnight.

DEFROSTING

Defrost when frost reaches about 3 mm thick. Turn off the unit, remove food and ice tray. Do not use heating appliances or sharp objects to defrost.

CLEANING

Clean the interior with a solution of bicarbonate of soda and warm water. Clean the exterior with a damp cloth and detergent. Clean the door gasket with soap and water.

TURNING OFF

Set switches to 0, gas valve to , shut off gas line, empty and clean the refrigerator, leaving doors ajar. Fit winter covers if laid up for extended periods.

IF THE FRIDGE FAILS TO WORK

Check starting instructions, levelness, energy source operation, gas supply (bottle, valves), 12 V supply (connection, fuse, switch), and 230 V supply (connection, fuse). If issues persist, call a technician.

MAINTENANCE

Gas and electric installations should be done by authorized experts. Annual checks by an expert are recommended for gas installations.

SOME USEFUL HINTS

Avoid operating on 12 V when parked. Defrost periodically. Leave doors ajar when not in use. Pack odorous items well. Ensure ventilation is clear. Use travel catch when moving. Use only one energy mode at a time.

GUARANTEE AND SERVICE

Guaranteed for one year if used correctly. European guarantee applies. Contact your dealer for service and spare parts.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Troubleshooting Guide
Check the following points before calling a service technician:
1. That the STARTING THE REFRIGERATOR instructions have been followed.
2. The refrigerator is level.
3. If it is possible to start the refrigerator on any of the connected sources of energy.
4. If the refrigerator fails to work on gas, check:
• That the gas bottle is not empty.
• That all LP-gas valves are open.
5. If the refrigerator fails to work on 12 V, check:
• That the 12 V supply is connected to the refrigerator.
• That the fuse on the 12 V supply is intact.
• That the 12 V switch is on.
6. If the refrigerator fails to work on 230 V, check:
• That the 230 V supply is connected to the refrigerator.
• That the fuse is intact.
If the refrigerator is not cold enough it may be because:
1. The ventilation is inadequate owing to reduced area of the ventilation passages (partial blockage of grilles from wire mesh etc).
2. The evaporator is frosted up.
3. The temperature control setting is incorrect.
4. The gas pressure is incorrect - check the pressure regulator at the gas container.
5. The ambient temperature is too high.
6. Too much food is loaded at one time.
7. The door is not properly closed or the magnetic sealing strip is defective.
8. More than one source of energy is used at the same time. If the refrigerator still does not work properly, call a service technician.
