| What to do if... | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No "steam" appears when using on a steam setting? | Warm, dry air (winter) | Reduced vapour is normal, absorbed by dry air. |
| Fluff in steam chambers | Empty and refill water reservoir; tip appliance forwards to drain. | |
| Drops of water are coming out of the steam exit holes? | Steam selector not set correctly or temperature too low. | Do not set steam selector to another position than "O" until steam ironing temperature is reached. Increase temperature if too low. |
| Stains appear on the washing while ironing? | Dry ironing fluff | Clean steam iron. Rub warm soleplate with water and vinegar or non-abrasive cleaner. Clean inside of water reservoir. |
| Improper soleplate temperature. | Clean the steam iron. Use water and vinegar or non-abrasive cleaner on warm soleplate. | |
| Soleplate is rough or furred? | Iron temperature set too high. | Select correct ironing temperature for fabric (see ironing table). |
