I. Training
Read instructions carefully, familiarize with controls. Never allow children or untrained people to use. Mow away from people, children, or pets. Operator is responsible for accidents. No passengers. Seek professional instruction emphasizing care, concentration, and control on slopes. Main reasons for loss of control include insufficient wheel grip, too fast driving, inadequate braking, unsuitable machine, lack of awareness of ground conditions (especially slopes), and incorrect hitching/load distribution.

II. Preparation
Wear substantial footwear and long trousers. Inspect the area and remove objects that could be thrown. WARNING: Petrol is flammable. Refuel outdoors, do not smoke. Refuel before starting engine, never when hot. If petrol is spilled, move machine away from spillage and avoid ignition sources. Replace fuel tank caps securely. Replace faulty silencers. Inspect blades, bolts, and cutter assembly for wear or damage. Replace worn parts in sets. On multi-bladed machines, be aware that rotating one blade can cause others to rotate.

III. Operation
Do not operate in confined spaces (carbon monoxide). Mow only in daylight or good artificial light. Disengage blade clutches and shift to neutral before starting. Do not use on slopes over 10°. Travel on slopes requires care: do not stop/start suddenly, engage clutch slowly, keep machine in gear downhill, maintain low speeds on slopes/tight turns, be alert for humps/hollows. Never mow across slopes unless designed for it. Use care when pulling loads. Use approved hitch points. Limit loads. Do not turn sharply. Reverse carefully. Use counterweights/wheel weights if suggested. Watch for traffic. Stop blades before crossing non-grass surfaces. When using attachments, do not direct discharge toward bystanders. Never operate with defective guards. Do not change engine governor settings or overspeed. Before leaving operator's position: disengage PTO, lower attachments, shift to neutral, set parking brake, stop engine, remove key. Disengage drive to attachments, stop engine, and disconnect spark plug wire(s) or remove key before cleaning, checking, or working on mower; after striking object; if machine vibrates abnormally. Disengage drive to attachments when transporting or not in use. Stop engine and disengage drive before refueling, removing grass catcher, or making height adjustments (unless from operator's position). Reduce throttle during run-out.
