The refrigerator features a partial No Frost system, with a static refrigerator compartment and a No Frost freezer compartment. It has a single compressor and an electronic control board (ERF550). The appliance is controlled via buttons on the air box in the cooler compartment. Temperature regulation for the cooler compartment ranges from +8 to +2 °C, with the fridge compartment temperature displayed via LEDs. A fan provides forced ventilation in the cooler compartment. The appliance switches on and off by connecting/disconnecting the power plug. It is not possible to switch off individual compartments.
During normal operation, the electronic board powers the compressor and the cold module fan simultaneously. The operating time between defrosting cycles is approximately 14 hours with normal door openings, extending up to 72 hours if doors are not opened. The system prevents frost build-up on food by circulating air.
Defrosting occurs periodically, triggered by the electronic board after the compressor cuts out or a set time elapses. The process involves the compressor and fan being disconnected, followed by the activation of a defrosting heater. Thermal switches monitor the temperature to end the defrosting cycle. After the defrosting procedure, the compressor and fan remain off for 60 minutes before restarting.
| Sequence no | POSSIBLE CAUSES | HOW TO CONTROL | SOLUTION |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | The defrosting heater is interrupted | Unplug the appliance, remove the connector of the heater and verify with the tester the correct resistance value to the connector clamps | If the resistance value does not correspond to the technical data, replace the heater |
| 2 | One or both switches of the thermal protectors are open | Frost the battery, then detach the power plug of the appliance, remove the connector of the thermal switches and verify with the tester the correct resistance value to the connector clamps | If the resistance value does not correspond to 0 (zero Ohm) replace the thermal switches assembly |
