Warranty Information

Electrolux warrants the EPIC SERIES 3500 SR vacuum cleaner against defects in workmanship or material for 5 years from date of purchase.

Basic Operation

  • Plug cord into a standard 120 V. A.C. outlet.
  • The control switch has three positions: OFF(0), FLOOR(I), and CARPET(II).
  • Set switch to FLOOR(I) for hard floors, delicate rugs, or above-floor cleaning.
  • Set switch to CARPET(II) for deep cleaning rugs and carpets.
  • The cleaner locks in the upright position; to release, place foot on base and pull handle back.
  • If brush does not rotate, press the RESET button.
  • Use upright position for carrying or storing.

Above-the-Floor Cleaning

  • Turn switch to "OFF" and ensure cleaner is locked upright.
  • Open adapter access plug(0), insert hose, and twist to secure.
  • Insert accessory plug(P) into receptacle.
  • Plug cleaner power cord into outlet.
  • Turn switch to "FLOOR" to begin cleaning.
  • For curtains/draperies, open suction control adjuster on hose handle(Q) to reduce suction.
  • Use brush end for hard surfaces, reverse for upholstery/fabrics.
  • Use crevice nozzle for narrow areas.
  • Assemble two lightweight wands for longer reach.

Using Sidekick®

  • Turn cleaner OFF before connecting/disconnecting.
  • Align Sidekick and hose connections, slip onto handgrip(W).
  • Plug in, turn cleaner ON, then Sidekick ON.
  • To remove, turn Sidekick OFF, cleaner OFF, unplug, press release.

Troubleshooting and error codes

B. Bag full or not installed properly B. Replace bag or install properly.
C. Motor overheating C. Turn cleaner OFF, allow to cool. Check for obstructions.
No suction A. Bag full A. Replace bag.
B. Filter clogged B. Clean or replace filter.
C. Obstruction in hose or nozzle C. Remove obstruction.
Brush does not rotate A. Switch not in CARPET position A. Set switch to CARPET(II).
B. Brush jammed B. Turn cleaner OFF, unplug, and remove object. Press RESET button.
C. Belt broken or disengaged C. Contact service.
