Introduction

Your EPSON® Super VGA Color Monitor is compatible with IBM® 8514A, VGA, and Super VGA modes. It features a 14-inch CRT display, high-resolution output (up to 1024 x 768), six user-adjustable controls (brightness, contrast, horizontal/vertical centering and size), universal power supply, and is Energy Star compliant with a tilt and swivel base.

Setting Up

  1. Unpack the monitor, ensuring all items are present.
  2. Attach the tilt and swivel base by aligning hooks and slots.
  3. Select a suitable location considering safety and viewing comfort.
  4. Connect the monitor to your computer using the provided cables.
  5. Turn on the monitor and then the computer.

Operation
Use the controls on the monitor to adjust brightness, contrast, and image position/size for optimal viewing. Refer to the manual for specific control functions.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Problem Solution
Power indicator light does not light. 1. Ensure the monitor is turned on. 2. Check that the power cord is securely connected to both the monitor and the outlet. 3. Test the electrical outlet with another device.
Power indicator is on, but no image on screen. 1. Verify the computer is on. 2. Ensure the video interface cable is properly connected. 3. Adjust contrast and brightness controls. 4. Check that input signals are within the monitor's frequency ranges. 5. Confirm computer/video adapter settings match monitor settings. 6. Verify application program settings.
Power indicator is amber. 1. Press a computer key or move the mouse to exit power management mode. 2. Ensure the video interface cable is correctly connected.
Image is not centered or locks on screen. Adjust H-center and V-center controls.
Image is too big or too small. Adjust H-size and V-size controls.
Image is scrambled. Ensure input signals are within the specified frequency ranges.
