Power Management
- Set backlight period option to the shortest available setting with SETLCD for battery conservation.
- Adjust brightness and contrast controls to comfortable levels.
- Run at 8 MHz for extended battery life.
- Utilize the HDDPSAVE feature to automatically turn off the HDD when not in use.
Battery Care
Periodically discharge the NiCad battery completely to minimize memory effect. After a full discharge, recharge for 8 hours to maintain battery charge life.
Video Settings
When using a monochrome monitor and software requires display type specification, select EGA 640 x 350 MONO.
Mass Storage Handling
Handle removable hard drives carefully to avoid activating the shock indicator.
Software Installation
For copy-protected software, set the CPU speed to 8 MHz during installation to reduce conflicts. The CPU speed can be returned to higher after installation. If software is incompatible, try switching the CPU speed to 8 MHz.
